There are some strategies you can use. Search our library databases or Google on "Ohio and gangs" (be aware there was an Ohio Gang which was political) or "Ohio and bloods" or "Ohio and crips" or Ohio and any specific gang name. Keep in mind if you use Google you may find wikipedia articles, blogs, or websites that are useful, you may not be able to cite them. Look to see if they have links or references to news articles, books, or other credible sources, like this FBI page on Gangs

There is an article written by the Lantern (Ohio State campus newspaper) on the Bloods and Crips in Ohio.

Here is a link to a search from the Library's LibSearch on gangs and Ohio. There might be some useful articles in there that mention gang activity in Ohio.

As for books, the books in the library that deal with gangs might mention Ohio, but will most likely be broader in scope or only deal with west or east coast. Most likely you will have to order something from OhioLINK (which can take 3-5 days) or check a local public library.

Here is a listing of books on gangs here in the library

and here is a list of books related to gangs and Ohio. You can request any of these. If you need help requesting books, please stop in or give us a call at 937-512-3004.

Hopefully this will give you a start.
